I mixed house for this group on tours of Japan, Hong Kong, and Hawaii. The players were Marcus Miller Bass & Vocals; David Sanborn Saxophone; Don Alias Percussion; Dean on guitar, Omar Hakim Drums, Deron Johson Keyboards, Philippe Saisse Keyboards, and Michael "Patches" Stewart played Trumpet.

David Sanborn
I mixed this Summer tour that was promoting "Upfront" David's CD. The players were Don Alias Percussion; Hiram Bullock Guitars; Omar Hakim Drums; Deron Johson Keyboards, and Richard Patterson played Bass. We did not take a PA or a house board but picked up local sound everywhere.

Al Jarreau

David Sanborn Quintet
I mixed both the European and American tours. This was a new all-acoustic band for David. We played all the great festivals in Europe including the famous Montreux Jazz Festival. The featured players were: Kenny Kirkland Piano; Al Foster Drums; Charnett Moffett Bass; Don Alias Percussion and later Charlie Haden played Bass on some shows.

On this Tour, I mixed the three bands on the same bill each night. We only carried Band gear and monitors. We did not take a PA or a house board but picked up local sound everywhere. I mixed house for this super-group in Europe & Japan. The Singers: Al Jarreau, Miki Howard, and Randy Crawford. The players: Joe Sample, Steve Gadd, Freddie Washington, Philippe Saisse, Lenny Castro and Buzzy Feiten.

Rickie Lee Jones & Lyle Lovett and His Large Band
I was the system engineer on this tour for about three weeks before I had to leave for the Jazz Allstars. The players were: Sal Bernardi, Wayne Johnson, John Leftwich, Jeff Daniel, Michael "Patches" Stewart, and Tony Morales.

Kitaro
Kitaro is the New Age Master from Japan and he is fun to mix. I mixed the "Kojiki" North American tour for Mr. Kitaro. I took 87 inputs from the stage. One of the greatest nightly events happened on this tour. Matt Leach the Production Manager, included on the Rider two packages of white crew socks. So every night when you got on the bus...Yes! Everyone in fresh new white socks! The band was: Casey Scheuerell, Brian Becvar, Ken Parks, Reggie Hamilton, Barry Coates, Kit Walker, and Charlie Bisharat.

David Sanborn
I mixed Mr. Sanborn for the first time with the band on a rotating stage! After the show, Mr. Sanborn said: "Me...turn up!" The second time I mixed Mr. Sanborn was in Los Vegas. Mr. Sanborn said: "That was the best house sound and the best board tape ever. What's your number, Billy?" Pink Floyd
I Mixed the House on "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" tour with Buford Jones and James Geddes and later Larry Wallace. I mixed the drummer Mr. Nick Mason and the Percussionist and their effects. This was 50 of the 120 inputs for the house. I did the indoor American tour and tours of Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and Japan. The players were: David Gilmore Guitars & Vocals; Nick Mason Drums; Richard Wright Keyboard Player; Jon Carin Keyboard Player; Tim Renwick Guitars; Guy Pratt Bass Player; Gary Wallis Percussionist; Margret Taylor, Rachel Fury, and Durga McBroom were the Backing Vocalist. 104 Shows

We The People
I mixed the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Vocal Majority in Concert with The Constitution Symphony Orchestra Mr. Anshel Brusilow, Conducting. The show used a 400 piece Choir and a 53 piece Orchestra. I used 60 inputs. Mr. Brusilow said, "The best sound We've ever had." 2 Shows

I mixed the "What's New" Tour in the US, Japan, and Australia. We took only the Rhythm section and soloist on tour. The traveling band was: Don Grolnick Piano; John Guerin Drums; Bob Magnusson Bass; Bob Mann Guitar; Plas Johnson Saxophone soloist; Tony Terran Trumpet soloist and Chauncey Welsch Trombone soloist. We worked with 12 different orchestras in the US including The Milwaukee Symphony with 70 pieces. This was the Only time I Did Not mic every player even strings. I used 84 inputs for this tour. Most Shows were done with 40 pieces plus 4 singers, 2 grand pianos, and one upright piano. 46 Shows

Free Lance Recording Engineer

Dallasonic Recording Studio
This was my first "big-time" job as an audio recording engineer at one of the early 24 track studios in Dallas, Texas. Dallasonic was a great place to work and learn. Don Smith was the owner. I was the "set-up-kid" and second Engineer to Mr. Tom Cassetta on many sessions. I recorded my first TV and radio spots and well as my first long-play record "Blackhorse". '76-'79

Eagle Audio
I worked for Eagle Audio Recording Studio a 24Trk Facility in Fort Worth as a freelance Engineer in 1985 and 1986. I would do projects for them when I was in town from tours. I was offered and accepted the job of Head Engineer in 1987. I left that job to mix Pink Floyd ( Do you blame me?). I also replaced their Monitor System with Urei 813B's and did the change over myself.

BC Records Recording Studio
I built this little Hip-Hop Studio in Fort Worth for Bobby Conley. I do Rap and Hip-hop records for them from time to time. '99-'00

Palmyra Recording Studio
I recently helped my old friend Paul Middleton out while building his new studio by making all mic-cables and wiring connections including 220 independent microphone inputs. This studio beautiful studio is built around a 1969 Neve console(now with Up-Town automation). I also soldered every bead in the fifteen ADC 144 Point Patchbays. That's 6,480 solder points for the patchbays alone. I also like to take clients to record out at Palmyra studios. '98-'00
